I wonder what this list would look like now if it was re-created? It seems so white male oriented.

I had to laugh--we agreed completely on so many of the books (Butcher, Jordan, Rothfuss, Mieville, Atwood, bleakness in general). A Canticle for Liebowitz was post-apoc so bleak, but the religious aspect was surprisingly interesting.

I love the Vorkosigan series.
