Seems like a lot of people are giving access when they subscribe because they don't exactly know either how they intend on posting/or the 'proper' DW etiquette. I did the same thing at first because I wasn't really sure and everyone seemed to be doing it.

I haven't given you access so I'm pretty sure you don't mean me but I comment on your fics on LJ (I have the same username there) and I feel less odd about following you here now it's not called 'friending' and doesn't force you to do anything!
